How does Sebasticook Valley FCU protect my personal information?

How does Sebasticook Valley FCU collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • Pay your bills or apply for a loan
  • Use your credit or debit card

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Location Information

If you use our mobile banking application on your mobile device, we may collect and process information about your actual location. We use this opt-in data to provide relevant messaging, even when the app is not open on your screen, to tailor our products and services for you, and to occasionally offer you promotions of interest. You can enable or disable access to this information at any time through your device settings.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness
  • Affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • Sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

Definitions

Affiliates: Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Nonaffiliates: Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Joint marketing: A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
