Commitment to Community Giving

As the year ends, we look back on the festive season of giving – and the important, joyful initiatives we are grateful to be a part of.  Sebasticook Valley FCU looks forward to continuing these traditions in the coming year! Our deepest thanks to our members and employees, who help make these traditions possible.

Maine Tree Festivals: A Fun Way To Give Back to Our State

Sebasticook Valley FCU once again took part as a corporate sponsor for the sixth annual Valley of Trees Festival in Corinna. This festival, organized by the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce, featured more than 60 decorated trees with other gifts, each sponsored by local businesses. The credit union’s contribution was a tree that included a sofa, television, fireplace TV stand, end tables and gifts suitable for every family member.

We also greatly enjoyed participating in the Anah Shriners Feztival of Trees in Bangor. For this event, we showcased a beach-themed tree adorned with stand-up paddleboards, beach chairs and other beach-related items. By participating in these festivals, Sebasticook Valley FCU aimed to support local businesses and contribute to charitable initiatives in the community.

Sebasticook Valley FCU Employees Give Back

Beyond corporate sponsorships, our dedicated employees actively engaged in philanthropic activities. Staff members raised funds for the Campaign for Ending Hunger and other charitable organizations, demonstrating their care for our community. We are very proud of the employee-driven effort that encompasses our commitment to making a positive impact in the Sebasticook Valley region.

Member Cash Calendar and Prizes

We also offered a Holiday Cash Calendar for members – all ticket proceeds went toward the Campaign for Ending Hunger. With a $3,000 payout and cash prizes ranging from $20 to $500, it was a fun way for our members to get extra cash in their pockets, while giving back to those that are food insecure in our state. Thank you to all the members that participated!
