The holiday season is here — a time to connect, give back and enjoy the simple joys that make winter in Maine so special. At Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union (FCU), we’re celebrating with festive community traditions, member-exclusive perks and ways to make the season a little brighter for families across Central Maine. 

While two of our favorite holiday events have already wrapped up for the year, their impact continues to shine throughout the community. 

A Look Back: Spreading Cheer at the Valley of Trees Festival 

Earlier this month, Sebasticook Valley FCU was proud to once again sponsor the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce’s beloved Valley of Trees Festival in Corinna. This four-day celebration brought together families, volunteers and local businesses to support nonprofits throughout the region. 

As both the corporate sponsor and a tree sponsor, we contributed a children’s bedroom-themed tree filled with kid-friendly décor and furniture. Proceeds from the festival help support the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce, as well as several organizations such as Spirits Place, Perfect Fit Community Center and food pantries serving all 12 Chamber member towns. 

This annual tradition continues to be one of the most joyful ways we give back. We’re grateful to everyone who attended and supported their community. 

A Look Back: Making Spirits Bright at the Anah Shriners’ Feztival of Trees 

We also recently participated in Bangor’s Anah Shriners’ Feztival of Trees, which took place in late November. The event featured dozens of beautifully decorated trees raffled off to support children in need. 

Our contribution this year — a Nerf-themed tree packed with toys and accessories — quickly became a crowd favorite.  We’re proud to have played a part in helping the Shriners continue their meaningful mission.
